Dear IT /Administrative Colleague,

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I invite you to become a member of D.I.S.C., Diocesan Information Systems Conference. During the past two years, the DISC organization has been actively working to establish strong relationships with national computer vendors to bring greater discounts and support services to dioceses across the country and beyond. Through a rigorous RFP process, we elicited proposals from several vendor organizations to evaluate what benefits they can bring to DISC and its members. We are please to announce the beginning and continuation of vendor relationships with the following companies: Insight, CDW, PC Connection and Enpointe. Members will be hearing more from these vendors and DISC as we send detailed information in the very near future.

DISC membership is comprised of IT and Administrative personnel who have responsibilities for the purchasing, decision making and utilization of technical software and hardware for their Diocese. Membership with DISC provides an arch/diocese community of IT professionals who share ideas, collaborate on projects and find solutions to challenges that are common in the ministry of technology in the Catholic Church.

Each year a Diocese within North America hosts a conference for our current members and potential diocesan and Catholic affiliated staff. The purpose is to bring Technical/ Administrative personnel together for sharing of ideas and to learn about the latest technology tools and trends that can advance the ministry of the Church. The Board of Trustees is confident that you will enjoy a well organized, technical conference that will provide valuable information and resources to bring back to your Diocesan offices. DISC 2008 will be hosted in San Antonio, Texas by invitation of Most Reverend Jose H. Gomez, STD. Arturo de los Santos, Director of Information Technology and long time member of D.I.S.C., has graciously agreed to coordinate the conference. Much planning and effort goes into the preparing of a conference. We look forward to bring you the DISC 2008 conference in a big Texas style.

Our conference continues to provide quality speakers, professional learning environment and excellent conference venues at cost effective rates whenever possible. This year we look forward to speakers from across the country and from many national companies such as Microsoft, Dell, AT&T, as well as from our own dioceses. Membership with DISC provides you with many benefits and supports this organization to bring those benefits to you. Please join us and help the church accomplish its mission through the field of Information Technology.
