Dear IT Colleague:
Re: DISC Mission Grant Program:
For the past six years, Diocesan Information Systems Conference (DISC) has provided grants to several organizations that serve in a variety of ministries that possibly does not have the resources that many of our local Dioceses or Parishes enjoy. The grant may be used for any needs that the recipient may desire. Since the program has been put into place, 14 agencies have been funded through the submissions from our membership. Some of the past years recipients of these funds are Diocese of Mannar in Sri Lanka, St. Josephine Bakhita, St. Anne’s House, Mission of Friendship, and the San Jose Mission.
The DISC membership has benefited with profits through a partnership with Insight and a percentage of the profit will be used for these grants. We, as members, have been given the opportunity to model our faith in the form of stewardship to those mission parishes that are in need of financial assistance. This is a demonstration of our faith that we are all one, working to carry out the work of the church.
Any Mission or small Catholic organization of the National or International community that would benefit from a contribution from this grant may apply. Attached is a simple application to be filled out with the description of the program or ministry for consideration. All applications need to be submitted by April 30, 2008. My contact information is listed below if you need further information.
Sincerely,
