Happy February! We are all flawed. As a task oriented person, I tend to focus a bit too much on the list and not on the big picture. So today, I reach out to you and ask for a bit of your time find out why you should DISC 2020 in Austin, TX.
I am humbled to be joined on the DISC board by outstanding individuals with servant’s hearts who answered the call to collaborate and share their IT knowledge. They have put together a top notch conference. Just some of the topics include:
• Threat Hunting and Network Monitoring
• Ethics and Social Justice in IT
• Digital Evangelization and Data Mining
• Hardware and Software procurement
• No Cost SSL Encryption
• Effective Communication
However, my favorite part of DISC is YOU, the people. The ability to come together and discuss issues affecting our beloved Church and how technology can lead the way in spreading the good news is my favorite take-away. I learn so much from each of you.
A unique feature of DISC is our close partnership with top notch vendors. Conference time spent in meals, breaks and outings with vendors gives you the opportunity to visit about pain points and goals for your diocese. It’s what really makes DISC unique.
And back by popular demand is a hands on pre-conference experience hosted by Data Integrity with a deep dive into security and threat response. And if you have a competitive streak, you will really enjoy the Capture the Flag event – and I promise, no running is involved.
Finally, DISC boasts of a destination experience that is tech centered and is sure to be enjoyed by all. This year, we will visit COTA Formula 1 race track. Now, to be clear, I know nothing about professional racing, but COTA was impressive. I was amazed to see the inner and outer workings of a race track, and it was fun! Included in our outing are simulators, a tour and Go-Cart Racing (these are not found at your local amusement park; these carts have top speeds of 55 mph). And for the really adventurous (and an additional fee), you will have the opportunity to drive around the track with a professional driver (no kidding; speeds of 175 mph). This unique outing requires some skin in the game from you (additional dollars, signing a waiver and pre-registration), but it really is a bucket-list experience.
Wish you were one of our early birds already registered for the DISC 2020 conference in Austin? Don’t worry, there’s still time to save $150 off your conference pass! But it expires on February 15th, so save yourself the trouble (and costs) and secure your spot at the diocesan conference of the year.
See you in Austin!
