DISC 2012 Mission Grant Award Recipients

Hospital Bon Samaritan in Lake Worth, Florida

The funds will be used to rehabilitate several drinking water towers that Hospital Bon Samaritan pipes pure drinking water to. The fountains provide pure drinking water for a significant percentage of the residents of Limbe (population 60,000) and have helped to reduce the cases of Cholera and other water borne diseases. The funds will also be used to purchase new plumbing fixtures, repair damage to the area around the fountains and to sanitize and paint fountains.

DISC is pleased to be able to offer a $1,000 financial resource to Hospital Bon Samaritan.

Presentation Sisters – Kalomo Mission in Zambia, Africa

The primary purpose of this ministry is to offer youth and adults spiritual, educational, and life skill building opportunities. Through mentoring, tutoring and providing resources, the Sisters work with the teachers and students to make the most of the education system. The funds will be used to assist 5 students (2 primary, 2 middle school and 1 high school) with schooling for the 2012-2013 school year. The cost for these 5 students would be $980 and includes school tuition, school uniforms, school shoes and exam fees. Assistance to these students will impact and change their lives forever. The funds will allow them the opportunity to earn an education, make a living and most of all to break the cycle of poverty in their lives.
